Matthew Brodowski, the American expert on the Middle East and Arab affairs, defended the US president's decision to cancel exemptions for three Iranian nuclear projects, managed and supervised by European companies.

In statements to the Saturday (30/5/2020) episode of the "Beyond the News" program, Brodowski accused European countries of selfishness, and that they regretted Trump's decision only because it would deprive them of economic profits that they would earn from their management of these Iranian nuclear projects, even if these projects would end up with ownership Tehran's nuclear weapon, and enables it to continue its "hostile" actions in the region and the world.

However, German journalist Matthias Brugman rejected Brodowski's accusations of the Europeans, as well as the justifications he mentioned for justifying Trump's latest decision, stressing that it violates the nuclear agreement reached with Iran after arduous negotiations and was approved by the Security Council.

Brugman said that Trump, with his recent decision, continues his policy of creating problems and crises with many countries and international organizations, noting his recent problems with China, the World Health Organization, Russia and Europe.

He stressed that the Europeans found themselves in a very difficult situation after Trump's decision, acknowledging that they are exerting pressure on Iran to remain in the nuclear agreement despite Trump's breach of all his country's pledges, and that at the same time they cannot ask the same from Washington, "the maker of crises."

For his part, Dr. Ibrahim Freihat of the Doha Institute for Studies acknowledged that the Europeans are now in a difficult position, wondering how they can persuade Tehran not to give up completely the nuclear agreement after Trump's latest decision, which came two years after announcing his withdrawal from the agreement.

Freihat expressed his conviction that Trump is resorting to fabricating external crises to escape his failure to face internal benefits, pointing to his failure to face the Corona pandemic that kills the lives of 2,000 people daily in the United States, and his failure in the recent rolling crisis after the killing of a black young man by an American policeman.
