The total death toll in the last seven days from coronavirus in Spain rises to 43, according to data released this Saturday by the Ministry of Health. Compared to yesterday, 271 new diagnoses have been notified .

In total, so far, there are 239,228 confirmed cases of Covid-19 and 27,125 deceased.

These data have been obtained until May 10, 2020 with which the Autonomous Communities contributed daily. However, on May 11, the new diagnosis, surveillance and control strategy entered into force in the transition phase of the Covid-19 pandemic, by which the Autonomous Communities must notify confirmed cases individually and daily at the level state. Therefore, as of May 11, 2020, said information is used for the preparation of the daily report disclosed by Health.

Of the total confirmed cases, the majority correspond to Madrid and Barcelona, with 68,740 and 59,003, respectively. These bulky differences are also observed with respect to new infections with 95 and 88 in relation to the previous day.

As for deaths, the regions with the most deaths from Covid-19 in the last seven days are Barcelona, with 13, and Extremadura, with 6. They are closely followed by Galicia, Castilla y León and Madrid, with four each.
