“An earthquake of magnitude 5.7 was recorded on Sunday at 5:13 a.m. (9:13 p.m. Saturday, Moscow time),” the text says.

It is noted that the epicenter of the shocks was located 238 km from the district center of Yuzhno-Kurilsk.

The center of the earthquake lies at a depth of 92 km.

Earlier, an earthquake of magnitude 5.6 was recorded off the coast of Japan.
