During the corona months February - April, news consumption has increased. The increase is mainly seen in traditional media and for the largest percentage increase, children are between 9 and 14 years.

- This type of result is positive, that young people in times of crisis seek out the professional media. It would have been more worrying if they had not seen a value in that journalism, says Jonas Ohlsson, media researcher and director of Nordicom in connection with the presentation of the figures.

SVT and the evening newspapers account for the largest increase among Swedish media, according to preliminary figures from Nordicom, the media literacy center at the University of Gothenburg.

6,011 people between the ages of 9 and 79 have answered the Media Barometer's questions about their habits. The answers are thus self-esteemed.
