First, place explains the Burundian news site Iwatchou: "  These heads of diplomatic missions accredited to Burundi, "encourage all actors in the electoral process to maintain a peaceful climate" ". It must be said that since Monday, the date of publication of the provisional results of the presidential and legislative elections by the CENI, the opposition or the Catholic Church have been protesting against the electoral process, the one which led to the victory of General Évariste Ndayishimié of the CNDD-FDD in the presidential election. In a press release published yesterday, the heads of diplomatic missions accredited to Burundi are tempering. So if we have to describe them, they are for example the ambassadors: of Canada, Egypt, Japan, France or even the Democratic Republic of the Congo among others, but also the Executive Secretary of the International Conference on the Region of Great Lakes and the United Nations Coordinating Resident.

A press release for the collective interest

In Iwatchou's article, it can be read that they "  put forward the collective interest and " urge all national actors to show responsibility and resolve any disputes that may arise from the electoral process through existing legal procedures. ". In short, they don't deny anything, but they call on everyone to catch their breath and wish . ” Also in Iwatchou: "  support the Burundian people in their progress towards stability, democracy and justice  ". Concerning the reactions, Iwatchou specifies that the capacity accepted these words, without much enthusiasm and on the side of the opposition one denounces the too " soft  " sideof this speaking: "  We would have preferred a stronger declaration compared to the complaints expressed  ". Questioned by the newspaper, an expert said he understood this restraint used by diplomats. For him: “  The call comes from a wide range of African, American, Chinese and European diplomats. Difficult to do more with a group like that. In this context it is already a lot  ”.

Also in the news, the Democratic Republic of Congo where the death of a judge yesterday questions

Raphaël Yanyi, he who presided over the chamber of the Tribunal de Grande Instance de Kinshasa / Gombe, in the case of embezzlement of funds from the 100-day program. Extensive file including the trial of Vital Kaméré, the director of President Felix Tshisekedi's office. The death of Raphaël Yanyi is therefore described as mysterious, in particular by the information site politico.cd . CAS-info for its part tells us, via the testimony of a family member that Raphaël Yanyi, "  felt uneasiness. We took him to Nganda hospital around 11:00 pm and it was there that we learned of his death  . " On the article published on this subject by Radio Okapi , we can read that the autonomous syndicate of magistrates of the Congo, like the family and the Congolese association for access to justice, request an autopsy of the body. The president of the Syndicate, whose remarks are reported in the article: “  So that we can be fixed on the real causes of his death. And that will lead us to remove many ambiguities because there are many things that are told. It will also secure the other magistrates  ”. No lead should be ruled out for its part, the Bourkinabé Le Pays information site . But the legal proceedings will certainly drag on in the words of the country and this death only confirms it.

And finally, the decision fell yesterday: Félicien Kabouga remains in prison

He who is accused of being the financier of the genocide of Tutsis in Rwanda in 1994 was presented yesterday before the investigating chamber of the Paris Court of Appeal… and the latter rejected his request for release under judicial supervision . Le Monde Afrique says  : "  The investigating chamber (...) justified its decision by a risk of " exceptional and persistent disturbance of public order "". For this room: "  the risk was too great to see flee this 87 year old man " who organized his escape thanks to his family for twenty-five years after having escaped arrests in Switzerland, Germany or Kenya " ,  as pointed out by Clarisse Taron, General Counsel.  "The French daily newspaper of the evening recounts the arrival at the helm of Félicien Kabouga"  in a wheelchair, slippers, jeans and a purple shirt escorted by two gendarmes  ".

After listening to the charges, including that of genocide, he defended himself in Kinyarwanda, imperturbable can we read in the article: "  I did nothing (...) did he declared , These are lies  . " The Rwandan news site The New Times  says  that Félicien Kabouga's lawyers pointed out the more than fragile health of their client, in vain. For the moment, the decision concerning his surrender to international justice and in particular his transfer to Arousha in Tanzania or to The Hague in the Netherlands, was deliberated on June 3.
