"We must always be very careful. But I am one of those who think that we are in a situation of complete regression of the epidemic phenomenon," says François Bricaire. "The risk of a second wave is extremely reduced. We can allow ourselves to resume activities," he continues without hesitation. The novelty of the coronavirus, its rapid and uncontrolled spread coupled with a bloodless hospital sector justified, according to him, the actions of deconfinement. "But they must now be able to be lifted for a return to normal," insists the infectious disease specialist.

The end of the 100 km? "It's wise"

Among the government's measures is the removal of the travel limit of 100 km within national borders. What cause concern for the French located for a long time in the green zone, and who will see the arrival of newcomers en masse? "We must explain to people that it is the importance of the circulation of the virus that conditions the risk. We must not maintain the concern. The Prime Minister underlined: there are positive results, even more positive than you would think about the circulation of the virus. So there is no major concern to have. Again, it is wise not to be on this limiting radius of 100 km " , he concludes.

Concerning the risk of a return of the epidemic in October, François Bricaire delays: "We do not have the scientific means to answer. It is far from certain, it is a possibility not to be excluded". Hence the need to continue to respect barrier gestures.
