Shopping, visits to archaeological sites and museums in anti-virus mode. Restaurant terraces extended on the streets or squares to compensate for the loss of capacity inside. In art cities like Rome, everything is ready to welcome foreign holidaymakers again without imposing quarantine. Pressed to revive its economy, brought to its knees by 70 days of confinement, Italy will reopen its borders to tourists from Europe from June 3.

Publicity

In Italy, we feel the will to return to normality. But 30% of restaurants and retail businesses have not raised their curtains, says the Federation of Traders.
Letizia d'Antoni, who runs a small business of organic products for restaurants, leaves with the strength of courage. “For the  past two months I have collected zero euros. The recovery will be difficult but not impossible. I am also at the head of the CreativHer association whose mission is to help women achieve their dreams. I trust the creativity of the Italians !  "

Among the sectors that are regaining momentum, that of shoes is at the forefront. Stefania Mittiga is co-founder of Ballerette. A brand of artisanal ballerinas. She managed to keep the three employees of her shop in Rome. “  The reopening was very moving. Customers have told us that ballerinas are their first purchase after more than two months of confinement.  "

An eternity for young people who tend to forget masks and compulsory physical distance. Grouping in the squares. Aperitifs on the terrace. Gossip and postillonages, which irritate the head of government, Giuseppe Conte. It is not yet time for the movida and gatherings !  In fact, Italy wants to keep the epidemiological situation under control, in particular to revive tourism, one of the great riches of the country, confirms Giovanni Sebastianelli number 1 of the National Tourism Agency. “  The sector represents 13% of the GDP. There, for this summer, we are betting on promoting the country, based on the diversity of its landscapes and culture.  "

Several archaeological sites and museums have already reopened in compliance with health security rules. A unique opportunity for serene visits, according to Anna Coliva, director of the Borghese Gallery immersed in the homonymous park where the children's joy is once again reasoning.
“  There will be no mass tourism. It will be an unforgettable experience. There is nothing stronger than beauty to give a sense of rebirth.  "

Everything is ready for a welcome on a human scale. Stefano Malatesta has even just reopened his apartment in Piazza Navona, perfect for a family of four. Here we are !" Everything was disinfected because of the Covid. So you can stay quietly in this little gem.  »
A little gem at 140 euros a night, in the heart of the Eternal City.
