Sanriku Coastal Road Kesennuma Bay Crossing Bridge Construction work for bridge girder to be completed by the end of the year May 24, 10:44

On the Sanriku Coastal Road, which is under preparation for reconstruction after the Great East Japan Earthquake, the last bridge girder was installed on the bridge across Kesennuma Bay in Miyagi Prefecture on the night of the 23rd.

The Sanriku Coastal Road is a car-only road with a total length of approximately 360km that connects Sendai City and Hachinohe City, Aomori Prefecture.

Of these, on the 23rd, construction was carried out to install the last bridge girder on a 1344-meter-long bridge that crosses Kesennuma Bay in Miyagi Prefecture.

The bridge girder is made of steel and is 15 meters long and weighs 130 tons. It was assembled and shipped by a factory in Fukuoka prefecture.

It was lifted to a height of about 30 meters from about 9 pm for about an hour, and was connected to the already installed bridge girder with a bolt.
