The pandemic is not yet over, but producers and directors on both sides of the Atlantic are already imagining films linked to the Covid-19. Without doubt inspired by the new success of the film Contagion , released in 2011 and particularly watched since the beginning of confinement, the filmmakers will decline the theme of the global virus in different styles.

Songbird, for example, wants to deal with the epidemic in terms of anticipation. The film is projected in 2022, when the Covid-19 pandemic never stopped. The virus mutates regularly, becoming uncontrollable. The population of the whole world is then confined, only people who have recovered and are immune have the right to go out. Filming is scheduled to start in mid-June in Los Angeles. The cast is not yet known but Adam Mason, specialist in horror film, should be the director.

A group of neighbors stranded in an elevator
Corona, a film with an evocative title to say the least, is already completed. It had been filmed in Vancouver in February, when the Covid-19 was still called "the Chinese virus". The film deals with racism, telling the story of seven neighbors trapped in the elevator of their building. Falling into paranoia, they suspect one of their own, Asian, to be carrying the virus. The trailer is already available, it only remains to set a release date, when the cinemas reopen.

Finally in France, Dany Boon announced that he had written during confinement "a story which tells the life of a confined building; from shops on the ground floor, to maids' rooms". The objective of the comic is to shoot it by the end of the year for a release in 2021.
