Other difficulties ahead

This change would be due to scheduling problems. The filming of the next installment of Agent Ethan Hunt's adventures stopped in March because of the covid-19 pandemic and no date for a resumption is announced. Nicholas Hoult, for his part, had committed to filming in the second season of the series The Great , broadcast by Hulu, and can not reverse his contract.

As Variety notes , Mission: Impossible risks being the first film in a long list whose cast should be upset. All the big Hollywood productions are behind schedule and the resumes of filming are likely to be a headache in terms of planning schedules.
