If the coronavirus epidemic continues to decrease slowly in the Pays-de-la-Loire region, six foci of contamination, also called "clusters", have however been identified, according to the regional health agency (ARS). Two are located in Loire-Atlantique, two in Maine-et-Loire and two in Vendée.

In Loire-Atlantique, a home has been identified in the Mellinet accommodation center in Nantes, which welcomes people in very precarious situations. Sixteen positive cases were recorded on the resident side, two among professionals. Another household has been identified, this one family, also in Nantes. Three positive cases were detected in three families living in a close area.

A cluster in the Saumur hospital

In Maine-et-Loire, a cluster exists within the Saumur hospital center. Twenty patients were tested positive and then transferred to the Covid sector of the establishment. Five hospital employees are also positive. Also in Saumur, three people from the same family, who had recently participated in a funeral, are also positive.

In Vendée, 11 positive cases have been identified in the Arrivé-Maître Coq slaughterhouse, in Essarts. No less than 675 employees have been screened there in recent days. Finally, three people are also positive for coronavirus in the food company Scabev, based in Les Herbiers.

For each of these homes, the “screening-care-isolation” procedure was applied. "We are taking all measures to prevent it from igniting," explains Jean-Jacques Coiplet, regional director of ARS. This clearly shows that we must remain cautious and vigilant. "
