  The survey shows that the overall quality of the new generation of migrant workers is better than that of the old generation. The education level, vocational skill level and the proportion of receiving public employment services are higher than the old generation, but their vocational skills still need to be improved. The education level of the new generation of migrant workers is generally higher than that of the older generation. The proportion of new-generation migrant workers with high education level and above accounted for 64.0%, of which college degree and above accounted for the highest, 35.2%, and elementary school and below accounted for only 2.2%. At the same time, less than 30% of the new generation of migrant workers have professional qualification certificates, accounting for 24.1%, of which the junior accounted for 11.9%, and the intermediate accounted for 8.5%.

  Average monthly income is higher than the old generation

  The current status of the new generation of migrant workers is significantly better than that of the older generation, with higher technical skills, shorter working hours, and higher income levels.

  The employment of migrant workers is concentrated in labor-intensive industries, mainly for residents' services, repairs and other services, construction, wholesale and retail, manufacturing, accommodation and catering, transportation, storage and postal services.

  The new generation of migrant workers is mainly engaged in business and service industry, accounting for 32.5%, but 15.2 percentage points lower than the old generation; followed by professional and technical personnel, accounting for 26.0%, 9.1 percentage points higher than the old generation; again For clerks, they accounted for 22.1%, 5.0 percentage points higher than the older generation. The work intensity of the new generation of migrant workers is lower than that of the old generation. The new generation of migrant workers work an average of 5.8 days per week and an average of 8.9 hours per day; the old generation of migrant workers work an average of 6.2 days per week and an average of 9.1 hours per day.

  The average monthly income of the new generation of migrant workers is higher than the old generation, at 5850 yuan, 896 yuan higher than the old generation. Among them, the average monthly income in the past 60% is 5,000 yuan or more, 16.1 percentage points higher than that of the older generation; the average monthly income in the last 30% is 4000-5000 yuan, 6.6 percentage points higher than the older generation.

  Pay attention to the protection of rights and interests when choosing a career

  Compared with the older generation, the new generation of migrant workers has a stronger sense of rights protection, and is good at using laws and other ways to protect legitimate rights and interests; pay attention to the protection of rights and interests when choosing a job, and the rate of signing labor contracts is higher. New generation migrant workers accounted for a relatively low percentage of damaged rights and interests, at 3.4%. When the rights and interests were damaged, 95.5% of the new-generation farmers' unions tried to solve it.

  Among them, the proportion of choosing legal channels is the highest, reaching 45.4%, which is 5.1 percentage points higher than that of the old generation; the proportion of consultations with the other party is 39.5%, which is 5.5 percentage points higher than that of the old generation; the proportion reflected to government departments is 24.1 %, Which is 1.3 percentage points higher than the old generation; the proportion of choosing trade union assistance is 10.8%, which is 8.3 percentage points higher than the old generation. The new generation of migrant workers accounted for a relatively high proportion of the five insurances and one gold paid through the units, and the proportion of the five insurances paid was higher than 60.0%.
