The writer and playwright Sara Bergmark Elfgren has previously written, among other things, the supernatural youth novel Northern Latin and the witchy Circle trilogy together with Mats Standberg. This year's Christmas calendar is based on her and Emil Maxén's children's book Knäckarbanketten, which came out last year.
"It is a cornucopia that is overflowing with strange mythological creatures, sibling rivalry and friendship, false graves and gossip awnings, betrayal and heroism - and pugs," says author Sara Bergmark Elfgren.

- What is special about this calendar is that we follow two main characters at the same time on each adventure. The Baroque becomes the basis for a unique fantasy world where thorough preparation is behind all the illustrations of both humans and monsters, he says.
Frida Johansson from Umeå stands for the music of the Christmas calendar. She has previously composed for the theater performance Bortbytingen and for the television game Unravel.
The Crack Banquet premieres December 1, 2020 in P4 and in the Swedish Radio Play app.
