The quays of Bordeaux, reopened on May 11, will become “dynamic”. This Tuesday, during a press conference "review of deconfinement", the mayor of Bordeaux said he wanted to "modify the decree on the docks to be closer to what is done on the beaches" of Aquitaine coast. In other words, put a stop to spring picnics, stops on benches bathed in sunshine, festive gatherings after dark or close-up sports sessions. At the edge of the Garonne, squatting you will not be able.

Nicolas Florian had very quickly wanted to give the Bordeaux residents a balm. At the end of April, the mayor already stated that he wished to "reopen the quays of the Garonne as of May 11". Closed since March 19, these beloved areas of Bordeaux were secured by barriers and rubalises. But, lo and behold, the docks were taken by storm from the declared deconfinement.

Consumption of alcohol is prohibited in public spaces

This weekend, sunshine obliges, Bordeaux residents on foot, in sneakers, by bike, with family or friends rushed to the banks of the Garonne ... without masks for some, more than ten for others and often forgetting barrier gestures against the Covid-19.

While "this first phase of deconfinement took place serenely", according to Nicolas Florian, the quays of Garonne are part of "some alert points" raised in the city. The mayor will therefore review the decree by this Tuesday evening in order to put back some social distancing. And to recall that the consumption of alcohol is prohibited in public spaces.
