Six boaters stranded in the Arcachon basin (Gironde) were rescued this Sunday, late afternoon. The boaters were stranded in the mud just over a kilometer north of Gujan-Mestras, said the Prefecture of the Atlantic in a statement.

It was at 5:50 p.m. that the Etel Regional Operational Center for Surveillance and Rescue (Cross) was alerted by firefighters. Six people aboard the semi-rigid would have been surprised by the tide. The Cross immediately engaged a rescue system composed of the helicopter "Dragon 33" of civil security and the semi-rigid SNS 675 of the station national company of rescue at sea (SNSM) of Ares.

Still according to the press release, "the four most fragile boaters" were hoisted by helicopter and "dropped off at the Arcachon hospital center". The other two were rescued by the SNSM d'Arès. The boat was secured at anchor.

The Atlantic prefecture specifies that another rescue took place at about the same time in the north of the Arcachon basin. And while these first post-confinement sea trips can quickly go wrong, she takes the opportunity to remind you that before a sea trip, you must rigorously prepare your navigation (tide times, current, wind, dangers, etc. .).
