Representatives of, among others, the Pablo Picasso Museum in Barcelona, Barcelona's modern MACBA Art Museum and the Joan Miró Foundation have written a "manifesto for preserving Y-Blokas Picasso mural" writes the Norwegian World Gang.

The Norwegian government decided to demolish the government block Y-block after it was damaged in connection with Anders Behring Breivik's terror attack in 2011. On the facade is the work Pisces by the artist Pablo Picasso, which is to be utilized and form part of the new government headquarters.

"We believe it is necessary to maintain the architectural whole," the representatives write in their manifesto, and continue: "The work was created as a unit and to destroy some is to destroy the whole," the Spanish representatives write.

Last week, the MoMa Art Museum in New York sent a letter to Prime Minister Erna Solberg asking representatives of the museum Norway to think about the demolition.
