"According to the regional forestry dispatch services, over the past day on 05/17/2020 23 forest fires on an area of 292 hectares were eliminated in Russia," the statement said.
At the same time, another 23 forest fires are operating on the territory of the country on an area of 3,266 ha, most of which are recorded in the Trans-Baikal Territory.
Earlier, in the Tver region, restrictions on visiting forests and entering vehicles in forests were extended due to the special fire regime.
