Sport is also in decline. From Sunday, live competition resumes on Eurosport, with golf and the TaylorMade Driving Relief tournament. After weeks of challenge to operate a sports channel without sports competitions, Eurosport is impatiently awaiting the broadcasting of this event, from 8 p.m. to midnight. "These are the biggest players on the PGA Tour who will play for a charity", explains on Europe 1, Laurent Prud'homme, Director General of Discovery France, owner of the sports channel.

"It is important for us. Since the beginning of confinement, we had to be inventive, to continue to feed our program schedule. And at the same time, from the first day of confinement, we got closer to all our rights holders to make sure that the live, since this is what really generates emotion, returns as quickly as possible, "he said.

Fans will be able to find Rory McIlroy, Dustin Johnson, Rickie Fowler and the new star, 20 years old, Matthew Wolff on the green, in this tournament organized by the professional male golf circuit, in favor of the Nurses Foundation American Nurses Foundation and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC Foundation)

Cult sequences chosen by champions

After weeks of adaptation to confinement, the sports channel is preparing its new grid and is still adapting its programs. From next week, on the dates originally planned for Roland-Garos, Eurosport proposes to relive the legendary sequences of the Grand Slam tournament with the "Player's cut". "We are going to offer the most beautiful meetings chosen by our subscribers but also by Rafael Nadal, Djokovic ...", explains Laurent Prud'homme.

Other interactive retrospectives will also be based on the real temporality of the tests. "At this time, the Giro, the cycling tour of Italy, was to take place from May 9 to 31. We are offering the biggest stages every day since 2013," he adds.

Technically, such an idea was not easy to implement for the chain's teams. "We toured all of our rights holders to ask them for access to the archives," says Laurent Prud'homme. "We had archives that dated from about two years ago. This was quite special: we had to retrieve the archives, send them via WeTransfer. From time to time, it took almost a whole day to download a stage . " Journalists sometimes even had to make the comments directly from their homes.
