There is a practice that will perhaps disappear when we will now meet on the street, it is the kiss. However, this is not a widespread practice around the world.

In India, in China, nobody kisses. In the United States, we rather hug than kiss. On the other hand, there is a country in which the wind is a tradition, it is France. And this kiss is practiced differently depending on the region: you can kiss once, as in Finistère, in Brittany. We can kiss twice, as in the North of France, we can make three kisses as in Montpellier or in the Massif Central, for example, or even 4 kisses as in the departments around Île-de-France, in particular in the Marne. Our partner Brut interviewed historian Thomas Snegaroff about this practice.
