Despite the fact that the competition in this year's Eurovision was canceled, the European broadcasting union broadcast the special program Eurovision: Europe shine a light during Saturday night. It was shown simultaneously in over 40 countries and mixed this year's contributions with tributes of old favorite hit hits. Among others, Björn Ulvaeus and Måns Zelmerlöw appeared in the box.

The program also answered the question that all Eurovision fans have asked: will we be able to revisit the music competition next year? And the answer was yes.

"Together we get there in one way or another"

"Throughout history, when it has been difficult, we have found new ways to get up, reunite and celebrate through the power of music," sounded the message that appeared on the screen at the end of the program.

“Although difficult, we find new ways to tell our story, to open up and show respect and love. Together we get there in one way or another. We will make it happen. We will open up. "

The competition will take place in Rotterdam in the Netherlands, the same city where this year's Eurovision was supposed to be held.

Exactly how and when the competition will be arranged and attended is not clear at this stage.
