The Algerian Minister of Health, Abdel Rahman Bin Bouzid, revealed that an investigation has been opened into the circumstances of the death of a pregnant doctor in her eighth month in the hospital of the town of Ras El Wadi in the wilaya of Bordj Bou Arreridj, in eastern Algeria, with the emerging coronavirus.
The death of Dr. Wafaa Bodysa, at the age of 28, caused great controversy on social media, especially as she was supposed to be excused from work in implementation of the measures taken by the government to reduce the spread of the Corona pandemic.
Bin Bouzid said, in a statement to the newspaper "Al-Khobar" in its electronic version, that he had ordered the opening of an internal administrative investigation to know the circumstances of the death of the medical woman, and whether she was actually forced to work despite her health condition.
"I commissioned the Inspector General of the Ministry of Health to conduct the investigation, and to know the motive that made this doctor work despite she was pregnant, knowing that the instructions in this framework are clear to release pregnant women from work. Therefore, if it is confirmed that she was forced to work, the hospital director and her direct official will be punished." the work".
