“I want to change jobs in rural areas” Awareness spread to young people in urban areas Corona impact May 17 6:28

A survey of employment information websites revealed that young people in urban areas seem to have a growing awareness of the desire to change jobs to rural areas due to the new coronavirus. It is expected that the number of job changes on U-turns and I-turns will increase after the infection is over.

From the 24th of this month to the 1st of this month, the employment information company Gakujou conducted a questionnaire survey on the influence of the spread of the new coronavirus infection to candidates in their twenties over the Internet, and received responses from approximately 360 people.

Of these, 36% answered that they would like to change jobs in rural areas, which is about 14 points higher than the February survey.

As for the reasons for wanting to change jobs to rural areas, there were conspicuous answers such as "I found out that I could work anywhere regardless of telework", "I felt a risk in working in urban areas", "I want to go home" about it.

The surveyed company believes that future U-turn and I-turn job changes will increase if the infections converge and it becomes easier to move across regions.
