The sculptor Roman Shustrov died

This was reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the post of deputy of the Legislative Assembly of St. Petersburg Boris Vishnevsky on Facebook.

“Friends, sad news. The chief physician of the Mariinsky Hospital called and said that Roman Shustrov had died. The doctors did everything they could, but alas ... A blessed memory to the creator of Petersburg Angel, ”he wrote.

According to the agency, Shustrov is best known as the author of the Petersburg Angel mini-sculpture, which is located in the Izmailovsky Garden of the Youth Theater on Fontanka Embankment. 

Earlier it was reported that the national artist of the RSFSR, vice-president of the Russian Academy of Arts (PAX), sculptor Anatoly Bichukov died in his 86th year of life.
