[Commentary] On June 12, 2019, radical demonstrators caused trouble in Admiralty, preventing the Hong Kong Legislative Council from considering and amending the "Fugitive Offenders Ordinance" draft. The defendant Xian Jiahao admitted that he threw a helmet at the police line that day, a cone-shaped barricade commonly known as an "ice cream cone" and an umbrella and other debris. He was on the front line of the mob at that time, contending with the police line of defense. The police used tear gas to disperse the demonstrators. Most of the rest of the thugs left the scene. The defendant remained behind and threw umbrellas and other debris to the police several times. Finally, he was uniformed and arrested.
