Posts by the Public Prosecutor's Office on amendments to law revisions Experts analyzed data on May 16 at 5:30

The debate over the revision of the Public Prosecutor's Office Law has increased social interest due to a series of posts including many celebrities on Twitter. Experts analyzed how many posts were real.

A post with a hashtag "I will protest against the prosecution's law revision proposal" that began on the evening of the 8th of this month, when NTT Data measured based on the data of all tweets, a post with this hashtag Including the retweet, it means that it reached 6,466,200 from 8th to 11th of this month. In addition, the number of accounts that posted more than once was approximately 700,342.

Associate professor Fujio Toriumi of the Graduate School of Engineering, the University of Tokyo, who specializes in data analysis, analyzed with his own system how many of the spread tweets were actual.

I checked the posts from 8 pm on the 8th of this month to 3:00 pm on the 11th, and the number was 4,732,400 including retweets, and the number of accounts was 580,805.

According to the analysis, about 80% of the tweets were posted only once, and there were not many calls made by an automatic program called "bot".

Also, when examining the diffusion situation, about 2% of retweets were done more than 70 times, which accounted for half of all retweets, so it can be seen that it was spread by a small number of accounts.

On the other hand, there are about 1 million retweets that are 10 times or less, and Associate Professor Toriumi says that ordinary posts are also unusual.

In addition, an analysis of posts related to this topic showed that a large number of posts disagreed with the proposed amendment, while posts in favor of it were almost non-existent.

Associate Professor Toriumi said, "It has not been the case in the past that hundreds of thousands of Acant participated in political posts in a short period of time. Usually, both posts are for and against, but only one post is spread. "It is also characteristic that I did it," he said, "It is important to look at the actual posting tendency, not just the large number of posts."
