Neil Young himself describes the 12-track record as the "unheard bridge between Harvest and Comes a time". The record was recorded in 1975 but has never seen the light of day before in its entirety. Five of the songs on the album are on other albums by Neil Young, but six of the songs have never been released before.

Neil Young apologizes for the 45-year delay on his website and explains that it is due to the strong emotions involved in the creation of the album. The disc was recorded after a painful break.

“I just couldn't listen to it. I wanted to move on. So I kept it to myself, hidden in the vault, on the shelf, in the back of my head ... but I should have let it go. It is actually beautiful. That's why I did it from the start. ", He writes on his website.

Among the cast are the departed The Band drummer Levon Helm and singer Emmylou Harris.
