Seroprevalence study: only 5% of Spaniards have antibodies against the coronavirus

Health has presented the first batch of results of the seroprevalence study. 60,897 people participated in the first week of the ENECovid19 study, which will calculate the population's immunity against the virus.

Samples have been collected from 36,000 homes.

In total, the study consists of three waves in which it is expected to reach between 60,000 and 90,000 participants. Calls to the 35,000 randomly chosen households are being made in parallel with the sampling of the participants in the health centers and homes.

Rapid serological tests are performed to measure the antibodies and PCR in case the results are not accurate. All the information being collected is being dumped into a computer system designed specifically for study by the Ministry of Health.
