Skogsmulle was created in 1957 by Gösta Frohm and is an outdoor activity where children get to explore nature together with Skogsmulle. There are also four books about Skogsmulle and his friends.

Through a collaboration between the Outdoors promotion and Egmont, the 63-year-old saga figure has now been given a new look, and in the fall a new fairy tale is released about him - the first in over twenty years.

- It is a story about how Skogsmulle was born. It is often told in the outdoor activities, but it has not been on sale or in the libraries before. We wanted to make it accessible also to children who don't have a chance to meet him in the forest, ”says Cajsa Rännar, spokesperson for the Outdoor Promotion to the Culture News.

Childish and naughty

Skogsmulle's new style has been created by illustrator and cartoonist Lars Bällsten.

- Forest mule is the children's friend so it is important that they think he is exciting to keep up with. He has got big eyes, which makes him look curious and happy. He is a little more childish and naughty, says Cajsa Rännar.

- Then there are many things that have not changed. The green clothes and fist hat with the spring are left. It should be easy to dress up at Skogsmulle and he should be easy for the children to recognize.

The new fairy tale Skogsmulle and the red feather will be published this fall and several books about his friends are also planned.
