And three! After the  harassing love then the  prodigious friend , the new novel by the Italian writer Elena Ferrante, The lying life of the adults , will be adapted in television series, announced Tuesday Netflix, while the publication of the translation of the book n is not expected until September. The book was released in early November in Italian.

The saga L'Amie prodigieuse , in four volumes, which made Elena Ferrante famous, has itself already been adapted into series by the American chain HBO, in co-production with the Italian public network Rai. At the end of April, the American cable channel ordered a third season of My Brilliant Friend , the American title of this epic which has sold more than 15 million copies worldwide.

A series shot in Italy

The deceitful life of adults tells the story of Giovanna, the heroine, from childhood to adolescence during the 90s, again with the city of Naples as a backdrop. Netflix hints that the series will be shot in Italy, in the original language of the book. The project will be done in collaboration with the Italian production company Fandango, from producer Domenico Procacci, who has already worked on the adaptation of L'Amie prodigieuse on television.

Despite the success of her saga L'Amie prodigieuse , whose four books were published between 2011 and 2014 in Italy, the writer Elena Ferrante has never been revealed publicly and remains hidden behind an assumed name. The track considered most serious, brought to light by the Italian journalist Claudio Gatti, leads to the Roman translator Anita Raja. The thesis was neither confirmed nor denied by the Italian editor of Elena Ferrante, Edizioni E / O.
