Deputies of the majority have tabled a bill to allow employees to offer days off to caregivers. On Europe 1, the emergency physician Christophe Prudhomme and the neurologist François Salachas denounce much more structural aid for the hospital world in crisis.

They want to reward the effort made by all caregivers during the coronavirus crisis: a hundred deputies of the majority have tabled a bill aimed at allowing public and private employees to offer days off and RTT for caregivers. Wednesday evening, at the microphone of Europe 1, Christophe Prudhomme, spokesperson for the Association of Emergency Physicians of France (AMUF), denounced an idea "particularly irritating".

The majority "in appearance"

For the hospital world, "the emergencies are to have additional colleagues to be able to lighten our workload on a daily basis, therefore hiring and especially not donations of RTT days as it was proposed", exposes the emergency physician. In the MEPs' proposal, the days off would ultimately be converted into holiday vouchers for carers.

"If the government and the parliamentarians have time to devote for the nursing staff, that we engage in discussions and that we take decisions", continues Christophe Prudhomme. "We are in the appearance, in the gadget proposals, and we do not settle the essential."

"Mark of contempt"

A little earlier, on Europe 1, the neurologist François Salachas had also denounced this proposal: "Seriously, does that mean that in France, we must appeal for solidarity?", Was surprised the one who had questioned the President of the Republic during his visit to La Pitié-Salpêtrière hospital in late February, on the crisis situation experienced in the public hospital.

The specialist criticized "techniques that are low communications, to say 'we will create a benevolent consensus and it will be enough'. This solidarity, which is instrumentalized, is a mark of contempt. It induces a lot of anger in the caregivers, who are not fooled by this kind of technique. "
