Supporting the installation of home doors Tokyo assists expansion May 13 5:14

The Tokyo Metropolitan Government has increased the amount of subsidy and expanded the scope of subsidies to the railway companies to install the platform doors to prevent them from falling from the station to the tracks.

The Tokyo Metropolitan Government, along with the national and local municipalities, is subsidizing railway companies for the installation of platform doors at JR and private railway stations.

Until now, the maximum amount of subsidy was 30 million yen per station, but from this year it has been increased to 40 million yen.

Up until now, the target of subsidies was a station that used more than 100,000 people per day, but even if it is less than 100,000, there are hospitals and special needs schools nearby, and there are elderly people and people with disabilities. If people use it a lot, we decided to include it.

By reducing the burden on the railway company, there is an aim to support the installation of platform doors.

According to the metropolitan area, of the 480 JR and private railway stations in Tokyo, only 26% have stations with home doors as of the end of March last year. We plan to promote effective utilization.
