Masks too big or badly cut? In order to calm the spirits, the city of Lyon invites users to read the instructions before use, recalling that it was first necessary to wash the models a first time before use in order to shrink the fabric. And so that the mask thus takes its final form. "It is advisable, after washing, to dry them with a steam iron or a hair dryer while respecting a short distance, which will give them a better hold by retracting the wires," she explains. And to silence the critics: "The choice fell on AFNOR certified products of national and regional manufacture and on fabrics with high filtration capacity (category 1)".

As a reminder, the municipality ordered 1.5 million alternative “general public” masks, including 1.2 million ready to use and 350,000 to be cut. Faced with waiting times to collect them, the city also announced Monday evening that it would open four new distribution points on Thursday.
