[Commentary] On May 12, Deng Bingqiang, Director of the Hong Kong Police Force, attended the Yuen Long District Council meeting. He reiterated that no one who violates the law will have any privileges, and the police will be impartial and fearless to arrest those who break the law.

  [Commentary] Deng Bingqiang said that since June 2019, 60 sets of traffic lights have been damaged in Yuen Long District, MTR Tianshuiwei Station, Long Ping Station and Yuen Long Station have been damaged many times, while 18 light rail stations have been damaged. 54 times, was set on fire 14 times. Many facilities such as CCTV, ticket machines, octopus machines and escalators were destroyed and unusable, causing great inconvenience to the daily lives of disabled people and even posing a danger. He claimed that the mob completely disregarded the possible serious casualties.

  In the past few months, at least 10 residents or passers-by in Yuen Long District have been sprayed with black paint by some black thugs because of different political opinions, taking pictures of demonstrations with their mobile phones, or removing obstacles that block roads. Face-to-face, constant punches and kicks, and siege cases. In addition, different shops and government facilities in the area have been destroyed more than 100 times in total, and Yuen Long and Tin Shui Wai Police Stations, including the report room used by the public, have also been destroyed four times and seven times respectively, including arson and throwing into a large number of Gasoline bomb. The behavior of the mob against the police also included besieging and attacking a plainclothes policeman on the road in Yuen Long in October 2019, hitting his head and breaking the blood.

  [Commentary] Deng Bingqiang called on the scene, hoping that the members of Yuen Long District would join the public in condemning the thugs who destroyed Hong Kong. He said that some members of the Legislative Council and District Councils have recently been arrested during the riots. The police will not appease and will arrest these members who incite young people to break the law according to law.

  [Commentary] On the same day, a civic group met outside the Yuen Long Government Offices to support the police. Deng Bingqiang was welcomed to visit the Yuen Long District Council and attended the meeting. He shouted "stop violence and thank the police for restoring society" and other slogans.
