Now that the deconfinement has started, filming and series shooting will be able to resume. But as in many sectors, very strict health rules have been put in place.

Masks, hydroalcoholic gel, social distance and limited personnel: stopped as of the announcement of the confinement last March, filming of films and series will be able to resume. But like schools, public transport, or even open spaces, a whole series of measures must be put in place to guarantee health security for everyone on the set. A precise protocol which actually makes this recovery very difficult.

No more than 50 people on a platter

Putting on a mask for a whole film crew, except for the actors when they are in front of the camera, and making available hydroalcoholic gel at the four corners of the set, it's easy. What is less so, however, is that it is now prohibited to have more than 50 people at the same time. If the thing can already prove to be complicated for small and medium productions, it becomes mission impossible for large-scale films, where there are at least 150 people on the set.

No group scene

In addition to making filming very difficult, these measures also have an impact on the production, since it is not possible to shoot scenes in close-up or in a group, for example. This is particularly the case for the film Envole Moi by Christophe Barratier, whose filming foresees a scene with a hundred extras at the Parc des Princes. Farewell also to impossible love stories with a kiss as a final scene, since you have to respect physical distance.

Insurance problems

As for the possibility of contamination on the set, the protocol provides for a complete stop, the time to test all the people who worked there. Which raises another problem: insurance. If it is mandatory, no company today accepts to cover the risk of interruption due to coronavirus.
