Domestic AIDS virus infected last year more than 1,200 Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare May 11, 17:10

Last year, the number of newly reported AIDS virus infections in the country was 1,200, which is less than the previous year. If you detect an infection at an early stage and receive treatment, you can suppress the onset of AIDS. However, there is a public health center that suspends the test due to the effect of the new coronavirus, which is a concern.

According to the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare, last year, 1219 people were newly confirmed to be infected with the AIDS virus at domestic health centers and medical institutions, which is 98 fewer than in the previous year.

Approximately 27%, or 328 of them, were found to be infected after developing AIDS.

If you get tested early to detect a virus infection and get treatment, you can reduce the chance of AIDS and reduce the risk of spreading it to others.

Consultations and tests can be received anonymously and free of charge at public health centers in various regions, but there are some public health centers that are discontinued due to the response to the new coronavirus.

The Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare says, “We are coordinating with local governments so that people who need AIDS can be consulted and tested. Some medical institutions can also be tested, so I would like people who are concerned to consult.”
