The zoo, which is closed in Corona, is the happiest animal in the world.

Quokka, a kangaroo companion who is also called the “happiest animal in the world” with a look that looks like laughing, has appeared in a zoo in Higashimatsuyama City, Saitama Prefecture. At the zoo, which has been closed for a long time due to the new coronavirus, we have begun efforts to transmit the lovely daily life of Quokka via SNS.

In the "Children's Animal Nature Park" in Higashimatsuyama City, the Quanka, a kangaroo family living in Australia, is bred.

"Quokka" is about 40 to 50 cm in length, and is also called "the happiest animal in the world" because of the look that makes it look like it is smiling.

In commemoration of the 40th anniversary of the opening of the zoo, four males and two females were donated by the Australian zoo in March.

Currently, this is the only rare animal that is bred outside Australia, but since it is forced to be closed due to the influence of the new coronavirus, we are releasing photos and videos that capture the daily life of Quocca through SNS. I will.

Those who saw the state of Quokka eating and moving around said that they received comments such as "Healing" or "I want to go see it soon."

At the zoo, the local vegetation is being planted in outdoor breeding spaces, and the four Quokka are gradually getting used to the new environment.

The name has not been decided yet, and the zoo will be recruiting widely after it resumes business.

Director Rieko Tanaka said, “Quokka is a very attractive animal. We look forward to it with the animals until the day we can meet you.”
