The curfew implemented in fourteen municipalities in Occitania is lifted. - SYSPEO / SIPA

Fourteen cities in Occitania had taken curfews to enforce nightly containment measures to combat the spread of the coronavirus. With deconfinement these curfews end.

These fourteen cities were in six departments: two in Aude (Carcassonne and Narbonne), two in the Pyrénées-Orientales (Perpignan and Maurellas-las-Lilas, on the border with Spain), three in Hérault ( Béziers, Montpellier and Sète), one in Tarn (Lagarrigue), one in Aveyron (Villefranche-de-Rouergue) and seven in the only department of Gard (Vauvert, Nîmes, Alès, Saint-Ambroix, Bagnols-sur-Cèze, Beaucaire and Saint-Gilles).

"This measure is however very effective"

None of these prefectural orders have been extended. But some mayors, worried about the consequences of the deconfinement, have already announced their intention to take over municipal by-laws if the situation forced them to.

The state intends to end the curfew on May 11.
With containment this measure is very effective.
If an event motivates him until July 24, the planned end of the state of health emergency, I will ask @ Prefet34 for his renewal # Montpellier # Covid_19 @ afpfr

This is particularly the case of Philippe Saurel, the mayor (DVG) of Montpellier: "With confinement this measure is very effective If (until July 10), planned end of the state of health emergency, an event the motivated, I will ask the prefect of Hérault to be renewed, ”he explains.
