A temperature monitor bracelet has been tested to alert by applying if a student has a fever in Beijing schools, the latest Chinese innovation to track potential infections with the Coronavirus.

China has published thermal cameras in public places, and in most places people are required to show an application that has green, yellow and red ratings that determine the risk of a person being infected based on their travel record.

The bracelets were distributed in five areas of Beijing for students who returned to middle school for the first time in months.

These bracelets provide temperature data in real time, and schools and parents can monitor them via a special app, according to the Beijing Daily. An unnamed teacher told the Beijing Daily: "The bracelet is similar to the one that tracks fitness ... We recommend that students wear it 24 hours a day."

If the student's temperature rises more than 37.2 degrees, the bracelet will alert the teacher to notify the police.
