[Commentary] A few days ago, China's first commercial maglev version 2.0 train, jointly developed by CRRC Zhuzhou Electric Locomotive Co., Ltd. and Hunan Maglev Technology Research Center, ran 160.7 kilometers per hour on the Changsha Maglev Express Line, declaring China's entry into commercial maglev 2.0 era. Hu Wei, the overall designer of the maglev of CRRC Zhuji, said in an interview with a reporter from China News Service that the increase from 1.0 to 2.0 is not only a speed, but also a technological breakthrough in related fields.

It is understood that China's first commercial maglev version 2.0 train will be off-line at CRRC Zhuhai in 2018, and will start speed-up testing on the Changsha Maglev Express in 2019. Compared with the 1.0-speed train at the speed of 100 kilometers per hour that was put into operation on the Changsha Maglev Express Line, the 2.0 version is "faster and carries more passengers".

Hu Wei, the overall designer of the maglev of CRRC Zhuji Company, said that before, the maglev trains with short stator linear motors never ran out of the speed of 160 kilometers per hour, so when developing the version 2.0 train, the engineers could only fumble forward . After fully summarizing the design and safety operation experience of version 1.0 trains, engineers have done a lot of simulation calculations and optimizations, and have innovated key technologies such as vehicle system integration, traction, suspension, current flow, light weight, and braking.

Then in the later testing process, we are stepping forward step by step, in a scientific and rigorous manner, then we are step by step, before the 120 kilometers, the speed is 10 kilometers, and after 120 kilometers, the 5 kilometers, In this case, at every level, we ensure that data collection and careful analysis are performed to ensure safety, and then we will carry out the next test.

[Commentary] Hu Wei said that the speed-up test on the Changsha Maglev Express Line is the most critical part of the overall work of the 2.0 train. The engineers have broken through major technologies such as suspension stability, axle-bridge coupling, and shoe-rail coupling problem. At the same time, due to the normal operation of the Changsha Maglev Express during the day, the on-line test can only be carried out late at night, and it is necessary to overcome many difficulties such as short test time and high risks.

Referring to the driving experience after reaching a speed of 160 kilometers per hour, Hu Wei, as the first group of "passengers", said that he sat in the cab and looked around under the lights of the city at night, as if flying on the ground.

If the passenger is sitting on the seat, its comfort (and 1.0) is almost the same, but if you are in the cab, because you are driving, you can feel the speed in person, the feeling of this speed is completely different It feels like there is a feeling of flying on the ground.

[Commentary] Hu Wei said that the successful speed-up of version 2.0 trains provides a new choice for rail transit. At present, some places are pre-researching the construction of related maglev lines.
