- Science: the supermoon of flowers will be the last of 2020
For the fourth consecutive month, but also for the last time in 2020, the full moon has taken this early morning in the form of a supermoon , slightly larger and brighter than normal as our satellite is closer to Earth. It's called Luna de las flores , a Mexican expression to refer to the full Moon in May, and it has left spectacular images
In May, although the terrestrial satellite has already started to move away, it is still at the threshold of 90% of the closest approach, so, according to NASA , it can be considered supermoon . The term, coined by the American astrologer Richard Nolle in 1979, is of little scientific interest, aside from pointing out the slight increase in brightness and apparent size of the lunar disk on the sky.
This is how the supermoon has been seen from Spain.
