Thus Emmanuel Macron decided to seize the Constitutional Council on the extension of the state of health emergency, just after the adoption of the bill by the Parliament. And this, to ensure the constitutionality of the text, advances the entourage of the Head of State. The bill provides in particular for monitoring coronavirus patients, and the possibility of quarantine or isolation upon arrival on national territory in certain cases.
MEPs are due to consider some 600 amendments by Friday at first reading. With senators, they will then try to agree on a compromise version of the bill. In the event of failure, the text will have to make a final shuttle between the two rooms, for a final adoption Sunday at the end of the day, that is to say the day before the beginning of the deconfinement.
The state of health emergency should be extended until July 10, not 24 as originally planned.

Very critical of the bill, particularly with regard to the respect of public freedoms, the senators LR and PS have already announced their intention to seize the Constitutional Council.
