The Royal Theater will give free access next May 8 and 9 to two of its great productions: La Traviata, by Verdi, and Madama Butterfly, by Puccini. It will do so on its audiovisual platform 'MyOperaPlayer', which since its confinement in March due to the coronavirus has had more than 52,000 people registered.

To liven up the days of quarantine through opera, dance, concerts and shows for the whole family, the Royal Theater offered free access in Spain, since March 18, to the complete catalog of 'MyOperaPlayer', expanding its contents during this time.

For this expansion of the platform, it had the support of other institutions and theaters, such as the Gran Teatre del Liceu, Gran Teatro Nacional de China, Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires, Teatro del Bicentenario de San Juan (Argentina), Teatro Municipal de Santiago (Chile) and also National Heritage, Fundación Albéniz and RTVE.

The Royal Theater will thus conclude, on May 9, the period of free access to the complete catalog of 'MyOperaPlayer' that began on March 18, in the scope of the initiatives carried out during the strictest period of confinement.

In a statement, the institution explains that more than 52,000 people have registered on the platform, with nearly 4 million visits. In addition, to promote and disseminate free artistic programming, live connections have been made with various artists, videos and numerous original contents on the Teatro Real's social networks, with a notable increase in their activity and the constant participation of users.

Also Mozart

Mozart, Verdi and Puccini will be the protagonists of this week on the Teatro Real platform, which will keep open free access to its content until May 9. Starting this Tuesday, a new production of El barbero de Sevilla, coming from the Municipal Theater of Santiago de Chile , will be available .
