Rat-trumpet or desman of the Pyrenees - Brut

Its hairy and mobile trunk is at the origin of its second name: the rat-trumpet also called the desman of the Pyrenees. It is thanks to this extremely sensitive organ that it is located in space, both on earth and in water.

It is also this trunk that allows it to detect its prey, such as aquatic larvae or insects carried away by the current. Very discreet and especially active at night, in recent years it has seen its living area decrease by almost 60%. Other threats: the pollution that poisons its prey.
