The consulting firm Barlovento Comunicación includes in its latest report the analysis of audiovisual consumption for the month of March 2020, integrating both the data viewing of content through television ( Kantar ) and that produced by the Internet ( Comscore ). With this study, the time that each person spends daily on average to view audiovisual content is obtained.

The data in the report coincide with the establishment of the alarm state in Spain due to the coronavirus crisis that began to be applied in the second half of March.

From the conclusions of this study, it appears that individuals aged 18 and over consumed in March 2020 a daily average of 6 hours and 22 minutes (382 ') of audiovisual content, which represents an increase of 81 minutes with respect to February (+ 27%). Of the total audiovisual content consumed, 10% of the time corresponds to YouTube with 38 minutes per person per day.

In the case of young people between 18 and 24 years of age, the daily time spent consuming audiovisual content in March was 4 hours and 17 minutes (257 '), representing growth of +70 minutes (+37 %) in the comparison with the previous month. In this group of individuals, YouTube's share amounts to 32%, with 82 minutes of daily consumption per person.

For their part, adults aged 25 to 44 years consumed an average of 5 hours and 24 minutes (324 ') per person in March, an increase of 85 minutes compared to February (+ 36%). Youtube consumption is 60 minutes, which represents 19% of the total.

In the age range of 45 to 54 years, the daily audiovisual consumption recorded in March was 6 hours and 31 minutes (391 ') on average per person, 93 minutes more than last month, that is, a growth of + 31% . Youtube consumption is 35 minutes, which represents 8% of the total.

Finally, in those over 55 years of age, daily audiovisual consumption was 7 hours and 32 minutes (452 ') on average per person, an increase of 77 minutes compared to February. Youtube consumption is 13 minutes, which represents 3% of the total.
