After making himself known through 50 Shades of Gray and The Fall , Jamie Dornan despaired of ever playing in a comedy. It must be said that having played a sadomasochistic billionaire and a serial killer over the past ten years did not help.

“Years ago, when I started in the cinema, I wanted more or less only to make comedies. I had started to make contacts in this direction because I had the impression that I was going to follow this path. Then I did The Fall , and if you play a serial killer, nobody thinks of you for a comedy, "the actor told Variety .
A new start
Jamie Dornan will finally have the opportunity to make people laugh with Barb and Star Go to Vista Del Mar , a comedy which he shares with poster with Annie Mumolo and Kristen Wiig. “We just had so much fun making this film in Mexico City last summer. I really hope people will enjoy it. I’ve had some of the funniest days of my life, ”he added. The film features two friends going on vacation to Vista del Mar, Florida. They discover then that a plot is at work aiming to eradicate the whole city.

For once, Jamie Dornan is not the villain of the film. He embodies the character of Edgar, a spy with troubled intentions. Not the big bad, therefore, but not all white either!
