May Day requires, no " paper  " edition  of French newspapers today in newsstands, but on the Internet, a three-color press, green, orange and red. On the map of France for the coronavirus, for the first time revealed yesterday, the French departments are now in color. And this map will be updated every day with a view to deconfinement, from May 11.

Why three colors? “  Red and green were on the menu, orange was invited at the last minute , explains Le Figaro , (…) as a sign of uncertainty in the face of a situation which remains fluctuating and indecisive (…) Thus, no green spaces in the red departments , explains this daily! This means that parks and gardens "can only open in departments where the virus is not actively circulating" ", reminded yesterday the Prime Minister's services at Le Figaro . Another example: “  From May 18, colleges will once again be able to welcome students, but only in departments where the circulation of the virus is very low. "

Last night, what did this map look like, fifty shades of orange, or rather one hundred and one, of the number of departments in France? The newspaper Liberation summarizes . “  In the east to Île-de-France, everything is red (more than 80% of the beds are still occupied by patients with Covid), in the center everything is orange (between 60% and 80% beds are taken by these patients), in the west it is heading for green (less than 60%). "

Today, May 1, no press on newsstands. No traditional Labor Day parades either :

It is "  a first since the end of the Second World War  ", underlines the site of the newspaper Le Parisien , the left parties and, since the 1980s, the National Rally, will not parade on May 1.

No way, however, not to demonstrate otherwise. Thus in the middle of the day, La France insoumise organizes a "  casserolade  " (that is to say a concert of casseroles), which Jean-Luc Mélenchon's party invites its activists to film and then put online . For its part, the Communist Party, on the Internet, is selling the traditional sprig of " electronic  " thrush  to offer online, reports Le Parisien .

For his part, Jean-Marie Le Pen, soon 92 years old, co-founder of the National Front, intends to pick flowers from his gardens to go, as usual, to flower the statue of Joan of Arc in Paris. However, reports with a touch of… Le Parisien mischief , his entourage did not specify "  the reason he would invoke on his displacement certificate  ".

This year, the coronavirus is also disrupting traditions. But in New York, in the United States, it is an unexpected victim that the coronavirus has paralyzed: the United Nations Security Council:

It is Mediapart who notices, for two months, the confrontation between China and the United States has put the Security Council unable to adopt "  the least resolution to respond to the crisis  " of the coronavirus, remarks this online newspaper, but not only ... After recalling France's attempts, so far unsuccessful, to organize a videoconference between the five permanent members of the UN Security Council - what this website calls "  awkward initiatives  "by Emmanuel Macron - Mediapart wonders if the United Nations is not going to"  crash into this crisis (of the coronavirus), the imperiousness of the Security Council coming to underline the obsolescence of the system  ".

And this newspaper notes the content of a recent article signed Josep Borrell and published in the journal of the French Institute of International Relations, in which the high representative of the European Union for foreign affairs notes that "  for the first time since the creation of the United Nations, a pandemic does not lead to consensus  ", which constitutes a" very bad omen ", worries Josep Borrell, who warns:"  If each State lifts the confinement alone, in its corner, we will find themselves facing considerable difficulties. We must therefore agree to avoid global chaos  , ” points Mediapart .
