China News Agency, Beijing, May 1 (Reporter Yu Lixiao) May 1 is the first day of the official implementation of the newly revised Beijing Municipal Waste Management Regulations, which means that the ancient capital has opened a new era of garbage classification.

At a garbage disposal point in the North Community of Hujialou, Chaoyang District, a lady skillfully dropped a bag of vegetable leaf vegetables into the kitchen waste bin, and put the plastic bag into other garbage bins. She said: "Since last year, I have conducted simple garbage classification. I usually pay attention to watching the relevant knowledge of garbage classification, and it will be classified after a long time."

She also admitted frankly: "For the garbage that has little daily contact, it will be difficult to sort it, and you should check it before putting it in."

In order to do a good job in garbage classification, Beijing has arranged more than 20,000 garbage sorting instructors on duty to supervise residents in the garbage sorting station and fixed barrel station in the community, and instruct residents to properly put in household garbage.

Beijing domestic waste is divided into four categories: kitchen waste, recyclables, hazardous waste, and other waste. For the vast majority of residents, recyclable garbage and harmful garbage have certain knowledge, and the operation is relatively simple. How to dispose of kitchen waste and other wastes has become a key part of correct waste classification.

The “Trash Separation Guide” produced by the Beijing Municipal Management Committee for this purpose shows that kitchen waste mainly includes vegetable leaves, leftovers, fish bones, fish bones, stumps and fallen leaves, etc. Other waste includes food bags, big sticks, Band-aid, defaced plastic bags, cigarette butts, etc.

In the face of kitchen waste and other garbage, many communities in Beijing have opened a new model of "timed and centralized delivery", that is, there are two collection vehicles that load kitchen waste bins and other garbage bins every day, and they are parked in the community at regular intervals to wait Residents throw in garbage.

At present, many communities in Beijing have implemented personalized waste sorting measures such as regular and fixed waste placement, on-site disposal of kitchen waste, and point exchange.

According to the person in charge of the Tianshui Xiyuan community in Liulitun Subdistrict, Chaoyang District, Beijing, the community has implemented a “three concentrated” garbage classification method, that is, residents' household garbage is collected at a concentrated time, concentrated at a centralized location, and collected and removed. Set up a “concentrated food waste dumping station” in the community to require residents to release food waste at a fixed time, without waiting, and will be punished if they are randomly placed.

Li Rugang, deputy director of the Beijing Municipal Management Committee, said that the treatment capacity of Beijing's waste treatment facilities has been steadily improved to meet the needs of waste classification and treatment. Up to now, the city has set up more than 113,000 garbage classification barrel stations and classification post stations, with a total of 1,259 kitchen waste transportation vehicles, 6412 other garbage transportation vehicles, and 980 closed cleaning stations and small garbage transfer stations.

At present, every type of household waste generated by residents requires collection and transportation by special transportation vehicles. If the domestic garbage collection and transportation unit conducts mixed loading and mixed transportation, random dumping, discarding, sprinkling, stacking, etc., it will be ordered to be removed by the urban management department, and a fine of more than 20,000 yuan and less than 100,000 yuan will be imposed. If the circumstances are serious, the urban management law enforcement department shall revoke the domestic garbage collection and transportation business license.

As a "big household" in the production of food waste, how can Beijing's food and beverage companies classify waste? According to the new regulations, catering units that have reached a certain scale and are equipped with on-site treatment conditions should build up on-site food waste treatment facilities that meet the standards, and carry out on-site treatment and resource utilization of food waste.

From May 1st to July 31st, Beijing will focus on a three-month domestic garbage classification and strengthen law enforcement special action, focusing on investigating and handling domestic garbage mixed piles, mixed transportation and mixed transportation, and other activities, will be Lay a solid foundation for the normalization of garbage classification.
