INTERVIEW
Will the Miss France 2021 show take place? Yes answered Sylvie Tellier, director general of the organization Miss France, Thursday on Europe 1. A special broadcast was planned for the 100 years of the competition, and even if the epidemic of coronavirus changed the plans of the organizers, its very existence is not threatened. Only "the election mode is jostled," she says.
Video applications
At this time of year, candidates are expected to participate in castings. But with the crisis, the Miss France organization had to adapt. "The candidacies are done right now by video", specifies Sylvie Tellier, who explains that "the departmental elections of this first quarter have been postponed or canceled".
Let's go for the #MISSCHALLENGE!
You are Miss, so share your experience with us: a memory, an anecdote, a funny story ... For the centenary of Miss France, it's up to you!

What does this online application consist of? It involves "sending us presentation videos where [the candidates] present their motivations, know-how, talent, passion", explains Sylvie Tellier. "The candidates send us their videos as and when they are redistributed to our delegates in the departments and regions."
"I received a parade from a man"
But the director general admits having received some surprising videos. "We receive videos of parades with people who do not at all meet the criteria of Miss France," she laughs. "For example, I received a parade from a man".

After this pre-selection stage, the candidates will find a more classic mode of election. "Once the confinement is finished, they will be received in person during a large casting to determine who will be the finalists in the regional elections," explains Sylvie Tellier.
Meanwhile, Clémence Botino, Miss France 2020, is following these adjustments from Guadeloupe, where she is confined to her parents. "She missed all the sporting events, like Roland Garros or the Cannes festival but I reassure her by telling her that she will have a comeback in September which will certainly be very dense", says Sylvie Tellier.
