Green or red? While everywhere in France, the map of departments differentiated according to their situation vis-à-vis the coronavirus is expected this Thursday evening, in the Rhône, the authorities are calling for "civic-mindedness". In recent days, several indicators screened since the start of the epidemic have been declining, confirming a decline in the coronavirus. But the greatest caution remains in order.

Between April 23 and April 30, the number of hospitalizations fell from 1,198 patients to 1,091 this Thursday and admissions to intensive care also fell. Just like new hospital admissions, according to the latest bulletin from the Regional Health Agency, which does not however reveal these precise figures by department but at regional level.

If these data are reassuring, the fact remains that every day, new cases of Covid-19 are always observed in the department "where the virus continues to circulate actively, in particular in the metropolis of Lyon", underlined Wednesday evening the Rhône prefecture. "If the number of new daily hospitalizations decreases thanks to containment measures, new contaminations and hospitalizations are noted every day", add the State services which are currently preparing with the local communities a deconfinement plan.

Neighborhoods less respectful of confinement

In the department, "the precise contours of the exit from containment will depend on the local health situation, adds the prefecture, adding that the date of May 11 remains an objective to be achieved". So that the epidemic continues to decrease significantly and thus make it possible to deconfinate the population on the said day, the prefect of the Rhône calls for individual responsibility and good citizenship. "More than ever, the confinement instructions must be respected," he adds, recalling that police checks continue every day to limit breaches of the confinement rules.

The prefect recalls that the #confinement must be respected by all until May 11.

Every day, checks are carried out by police officers at various points in the territory. Thank you to the agents of @ PoliceNat69 for their professionalism. https://t.co/esvYGT3TLZ

A call notably intended to avoid mass outings in the coming days, as it could be observed in certain districts of the metropolis and Lyon, in La Guillotière and Saxe-Gambetta in particular, where local residents denounce a "total anarchy" since Several weeks. Reinforced controls were carried out there Wednesday, according to the prefecture, which published on Twitter the images of the police forces mobilized. A message undoubtedly intended to appease the anger of the inhabitants in front of a certain relaxation, always very visible at the end of the day in these sectors of the city.
