The actor Irrfan Khan , known for his roles in Slumdog Millionaire and Jurassic Park, died Wednesday at the age of 53 in a Bombay hospital, where he remained hospitalized to treat cancer.

The interpreter's family has been in charge of communicating his death through a message: "Surrounded by his love, by his family, he went to heaven leaving a true legacy. We all pray and hope that he is at peace."

In 2018, Irrfan Khan revealed on his Twitter account that he suffered from a neuroendocrine tumor, a rare disease that affects cells that release hormones in the blood. He then did not elaborate on his health.
